ACSM’s (American College of Sports Medicine) addresses the top 10 fitness trends for 2016.
Two types of workouts frequently used in our boot camp program placed in the top three!
At #2 is body weight training which uses the body as resistance. Boot camp classes are all about moving your body in unique and highly effective ways in order to help you burn calories, build confidence and stay fit.
And tied for #2 is HIIT, which stands for High Intensity Interval Training. HIIT is a popular training technique that requires the body to exercise at a very high intensity for a short duration. This technique is highly effective at producing an afterburn; which is to say that the workout continues to burn calories long after the workout is over due to the high intensity. Sarge Fitness Boot camp incorporate HIIT into our workouts 2-3 times per month.
